We ate corned beef and cabbage growing up. Really, corned brisket was about the only beef I enjoyed as a kid.

As a grown up, I still make the brisket in a crockpot, but I don't really like cabbage or boiled potatoes so I usually roast potatoes, carrots, and parsnips.

Or I really like this cottage pie recipe. The mashed potatoes take a while to make, but the rest of it isn't too bad. http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/browse-all-recipes/cottage-pies-recipe

Asking my dad to cook his Irish boiled dinner. He's italian, but learned it from an Irish family friend.

Colcannon is pretty good - it's basically buttery mashed potatoes with cooked cabbage or kale and chopped bacon or ham all mixed into one dish.

You can do sausages and mashed potatoes too.

Crockpot Guinness beef stew over mashed potatoes.

I love shepherd's pie but I prefer it with regular potatoes. It's so fast especially if you buy a tub of mashed potatoes at the store.

What are you planning on making for St Patty's Day?

We usually do Guinness corned beef and cabbage but I don't think the girls will eat it. Might still try it and adapt the recipe for the crockpot. I thought about shepherd's pie with sweet potatoes on top, I could prep everything the night before.

What are you planning on making?
