@twodoghouse: well we know fia doesn't wake when hungry nor will she eat when she wakes up! sigh lol. She ended up waking at 330 on her own. today is a very low eating day due to the poor sleeping. but hopefully this last nap got her on track. will prob put her down here again soon and hopefully she'll eat good. :)

Also, I was productive-- yay! paid bills and straightened up and got some photo shiz done-- its amazing what i can do with an hour or two to myself :)

Let her sleeeeep! My kids are both taking a long nap too. I curled my hair and played around on the internet because I'm dumb. Should have napped too! Or had a margarita if I'd known they'd sleep this long. My kids always wake up if they get hungry and longb naps are usually their way of making up for bad sleep some other time (like for the last month).

Every baby is different, but I never wake LO from naps, even if they're long and late, and it's no problem for us. We've had days when she naps until like 6 (normally when we start bath time) and we just play for an hour, do normal bedtime routine, and she sleeps fine. She's much worse if we wake her to try to keep to our usual schedule, so we just don't!

@illumina: I don't know. Her sleep went from amazing to not great to horrible to not great to semi-acceptable and now back to bad. Started at 2.5 months and has been going on now for almost 2 mo. so I don't know. I tried to start swaddle weaning her yesterday bc I think at least part of the problem overnight is she busts out and wakes herself up... but that led to the day of crappy naps and horrible night and horrible morning. I'm at a loss. I think we'll give her a few more weeks to work this out and probably around 5 mo try CIO :(

@illumina: that was my thought. and i hope so!! She's just so restless lately. She's been waking up at 4 kicking around, restless, swaddle-breaking, whining, and completely unable to sleep other than on me (and even then, only sometimes can sleep). Except last night it was 2:30am. bah.

@Mae: Maybe I would wake her at 430, so she can still get that last nap in before bed :) With any luck, the extra sleep will lead to better night sleep!

@illumina: it's 3:16 here. She has been sleeping since 12:30. I'm not worried about her falling asleep for bed time at all because she has high sleep needs and is never up for more than 1-1.5 hours. Her usual schedule would have her going down for this nap later (like 2 or 230) until 4 or 430 or so, and then going back down for a nap from 530 or 6 until 7:30, and then bed time is at 830 (she can only handle being awake for 1 hr prior to bed time). So if I let her sleep until 4:30 she'll probably still want to go back down for a nap at 6 until 7:30 and then back down to bed at 8:30. I just worry since basically an entire days' worth of naps is consolidated to the latter half of the day that she won't sleep through as well as she usually does (which is not well lately-- hence my concern for making it even worse haha).

I say let her sleep, but wake her up 2-3 hours before bedtime.

What time is it now? I would be inclined to leave her unless it's within a couple hours of bedtime.

I think I know the answer but want to crowdsource my thought...

LO had bad naps yesterday. Which led to a bad night of sleep and a VERY cranky tired baby this morning. And then 2 craptastic naps after that. (Restless and early waking).

I finally (finally!) got her down for a good deep sleeping nap and she's been going for 2 hrs 40 min. I'm inclined to just let her sleep as long as she wants (or like... up to 4 hrs?) so we can break the overtired cycle. But I've never let her sleep more than 3 hrs during the day before so I'm nervous about it messing with night time sleep.

She's 4 mo btw.
