Thanks everyone! I'm so bad at telling what's too hot because I'm so hot natured!

@artbee: I was kind of hoping someone would suggest that soon but it looks like they aren't going to!

@runsyellowlites: I'll try with the hat again but LO won't keep a hat on either!

Go, it's been over 110 here and the kids are still playing. A younger baby I wouldn't buy a near toddler should be fine. Bring enough to drink for both of you, sunscreen and some snacks.

I'd probably go. I think it's close enough that if it's just awful you can leave, and at least it gets you out of the house. Maybe if others are hot too you can suggest another indoor place to move the play date too?

I would go. Honestly, at 11 months the playground isn't going to keep her entertained for more than 15-20 minutes anyway. If you can hop into an air conditioned car afterwards and have some water handy you should both be fine.

I would go... I also live in South Texas where that is normal weather for the late spring/summer time months. Just take lots of water, sunscreen, and a hat for lo if you have one (P wouldn't wear a hat so that's not helpful for me)... Dress cool & have fun!

i think i might go if i had air conditioning in the car -- we don't and it sucks :(
but i think with air con you can limit the amt of time LO is in the heat and it might be fun for you both! :)

I had planned to go to a play date with LO at the park today. Supposedly the playground is in the shade at this park. I was looking forward to going even more when I heard news about my aunt who has cancer (see other post) and wanted the distraction.

This park is about 20 minutes from our house so it's not too far but not right around the corner. I just looked at the weather and it says it feels like 95 outside. LO is almost 11 months old. Is this just too hot? I don't want to drive 20 minutes to the park and leave after 5 minutes. What would you do? We don't live near family and I'm in these play groups to try to make friends in the area but there aren't any other things going on this afternoon. LO does get restless in the house but I don't want her to get hot and cranky.
