LO1 doesn't nap and hasn't in a long time (she's 2) and she sleeps in a big bed so she gets in and out if she wants to grab another book, play with a quiet toy on the floor etc. I can only get her to do this 30-60 minutes and then she comes into my room and watches a movie. Not the most ideal but I need quiet time, too!

oh that's tough! i agree with the above suggestions--maybe try a toddler bed and/or repeatedly reminding him that it's quiet time and/or maybe one of those "okay to go" clocks where they can see when it's okay to get up?

Do the cribs convert? I would try putting the non-napper in a toddler bed/converting the crib. Then he can get his toys if he needs something to play with. I know that going in and giving my son a stack of books and telling him he can stay in bed and read books would work for us to keep him quiet. Now he gets up, gets his own books and waits for someone to come get him. Is there something quiet that your son would like? I would keep putting him back in bed with his quiet activity and hopefully he'll get the hint. Good luck!

How and when did you institute "quiet time" if nap time isn't happening or isn't long enough? My twins are 23 months old and one guy generally naps 2 hours, his brother, not so much. Problem is they are still in cribs/pack n play. They nap in separate rooms. My guy who doesn't nap well also has the habit of throwing everything out of his crib, so if he's not sleeping, he doesn't have anything to play with, either. Meanwhile, his brother naps his 2 hours and will play quietly w/ toys in his crib before/after the nap. How can I get the lesser-sleeper to do the same, given that he usually takes to screaming when he's not sleeping, which wakes up his brother?
