I think if your LO and dog are already scared of the vacuum that the roomba might be scary though. I'd def just out the Miele though. It's a canister which I think helps. On the other hand, my toddler was terrified of our roomba. I had to get rid of it. I usually vacuum at night when they're sleeping since both their white noise is loud enough that the vacuum noise kinda blends in or can't be heard at all. It still scares the baby but he's scared of everything. It's lightweight and seems to work great so far, and we have 4 dogs. After going through 3-4 cheaper, bagless vacuums we decided to spend a little more.
