I'll have a conversation with them and try to encourage them to work through it if it's just a slump or they're feeling discouraged from learning something difficult. But if after that they really want to quit, of course I'd let them.

I will let them quit, especially if they specifically ask. I will probably make them take a short period of time to think about it, but I won't force them to continue.

I was never allowed to quit activities as a child and teen. I started most things very early (gymnastics at age 2, violin at age 7) and was forced to stay with them until I graduated high school. It really changed the way I handled things for a long time, in a bad way (for ex. not switching my college major ever, or not getting out of a grad program that was a bad fit and accumulating a ton of student debt from it). I don't want my child to be afraid to quit something if it doesn't work for them, like I was.

At that age, yes. We did a couple sessions of soccer and during the last one he just wasn't into it anymore. So we stopped going. It's been about a year and he has started asking again so we may do one session and see how it goes.

Our 3 1/2 year old has been in gymnastics since January, she LOVED it so much. Then all of a sudden the Tuesday after memorial day she decided she did not want to go, we figured it was a long weekend we let her skip that class. Then the next week she decided she was done, she didn't want to go anymore. We asked why and she just said "it's not fun anymore." Luckily we were on a month by month scheduled so I called and they cancelled us. It did make us sad though, I enjoyed watching her learn something I loved so much about. I told them we might come back in the fall and she said they get that a lot, just to be sure to call to get on the list. Do you let your kids "quit?"
