I was an exclusive pumper too. I felt a mixture of emotions, since BF didn’t work for either of my boys, but a few days after quitting the pump, it was liberating!!!!

@jhd:  pumping with such a new baby is so hard! Definitely do what’s best for you! I used a pump after nursing to try to boost my supply with lo1 and it was the worst, feeling like I needed to be plugged in when lo1 needed me too. I can’t imagine how much harder it’d be to pump exclusively AND have both kids at the same time. Hats off to you, mama, for going as long as you did! You’re amazing

@mrsbubbletea: @Mrs. Tiger: @SweetiePie: @snowjewelz: thanks for the support, ladies. I read your replies the other day, but then didn’t get a chance to respond. As soon as I dropped a couple more pump sessions I basically lost what tiny supply I had. I didn’t expect such an abrupt ending, but I’m going to clear all pumping supplies out of my room today and try to put it out of my mind and accept that my body just can’t do it! I know that formula is a great option. My older son was combo fed for his first 8 weeks and then exclusively FF and he’s healthy and smart and doing fine! 😉

❤️ you might already know my story from our FB threads but I had to quit at 5 weeks with my first to keep my sanity. And there wasn’t a nicu stay, toddler, or low supply, it was just not working for me. You tried so hard and I think it’s important to know when it’s time to reassign your focus. Know when to hold ‘em and know when to fold ‘em. ;-) It’s sad at first but when you see how much more time you have to focus on the kids (and yourself! Don’t forget that) you’ll be so glad ❤️
He’s so lucky to have you!

Sorry mama, I had to do the same thing with D and it was hard. Do you need help figuring out how to wean from the pump? I think it took me a week. Hang in there ❤

@jhd: I am sorry you are feeling low about it. Your baby needs you most! And with the long NICU stay, it’s so smart of you to prioritize what you can for your mental and physical health. Hang in there mama!

I have been exclusively pumping for our 2nd LO who will be five weeks old tomorrow and I’m going to have to stop soon. My supply is very low and it takes up so much of my day that I need to be spending caring for my baby in other ways. But I’m sad. Just need a safe space to share.
