Checking in & I have been smoke free for 16 days! I've made it through my PMS, DH's appointments, my family visiting for easter, & DH still smoking. All are big triggers for me and I am over the moon happy I have made it this far. It takes 2 weeks to get the nicotine out of your system & 21 days to form a habit. If I can get through these next two weeks I should be golden!

DH was suppose to quit with me but has been cheating at work. We signed up for a gym membership right next to his job. He says he is going to go during his lunches & I'm going to go after work before I have to pick him up from work. This will be great for me as I hate going in the mornings & don't like going innthe evenings after I've already been home.

So I quit smoking, I'm going to the gym & starting a low carb diet today. Working on all my unhealthy nasty habits & feeling good about it.

How about you? How did things go over Easter?

Good luck!!!

I have several nasty habits. The main one being emotional eating. Hoping to curb that one!

Good luck! It's awesome that you will be quitting!! Hang in there :)

I want to go back to eating healthy. I used to be sooo healthy pre pregnancy - all whole grains, low fat, minimal processed foods, etc. but with baby, I've found myself making such unhealthy choices. It's really important for me that I model good eating habits for my lo and it's hard to do that when I'm constantly reaching for frozen meals :P

You can do it!! I quit smoking about 7 years ago and it was the best thing I've ever done for myself health-wise other than losing 30 lbs. I quit cold turkey one day and every time I wanted a cig, I reminded myself why I was quitting. It was really hard and I still have dreams about smoking, but it is possible!!

My bad habit is not working out. I used to be so into fitness in college, I was the only one of my roomates who went every day. But as an adult working full time I have zero motivation. I'm at a healthy weight, but I'm definitely softer and 'bigger'than I was before.

@Sugar.Biscuit: Congrats on taking that first step! Just remember, every cigarette you turn down puts you one step closer to getting pregnant with a healthy baby. As for the potential MS diagnosis, so sorry to hear that! But don't be afraid of it if thats what it is, the outlook is good. I have a friend who was diagnosed in her early 30s and it inspired her to get really healthy. She used acupuncture when she couldn't be on meds and is doing really well.

@Sugar.Biscuit: My DH is currently using e-cigs to quit, and it is going well. Everything else would go to crap eventually. And they cost less ... so yay!

I personally need to get back to the gym. Yes, weight loss and all, but I really just want to be healthy. High BP and diabetes run in the family, so I need to be a lot more active and eat better!

@Sugar.Biscuit: You can do it! I quit about 4 years ago, however I was still sneaking in an occasional smoke with friends/when I was drinking. Getting pregnant last year, I never had a craving what so ever and actually hated the smell of it!

Quitting smoking is tough, but you can definitely do it! I quit 4 years ago by reading Allan Carr's book, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. After reading the book, something clicked and I never smoked another ciggie. It was so easy I couldn't believe I hadn't done it sooner. You will feel amazing soon, I am rooting for you!!!

@sugar.biscuit: You can do it!!!

After smoking for six or so years, I quit using the Level 1 patch and then ultimately cold turkey as we were starting our TTC journey. I had a couple cheats here and there, but then we found out we were pregnant and there was looking back! It just mentally clicked and I haven't looked back since!

I quit smoking after almost 15 years when I found out I was pregnant with DS - it was sooo easy! I had tried a couple times before with no success but I guess having a baby inside me gave me the motivation. I haven't looked back and love being a non smoker! I think the best part is not having to be a slave to thinking about the next cigarette...if that makes sense. DH doesn't smoke so I think that helps.

I'm so sorry you're going through this health issue with your DH, that can't make it easy to quit. I hope everything turns out ok!

My nasty habit now is much more superficial - I'm trying to shower/do my hair/throw on mascara each morning. Being a SAHM I feel like why bother but it makes me feel so much better...even if DS is whining while I do it! Oh an shaving my legs - I slacked on that a lot this winter :)

@prettylizy: stress got to me again today! We had another appointment for dh today. They finally scheduled blood work and an MRI scan for his neck and brain. Dr threw out the word MS again! I really wish they would stop doing that. All you do is mind f yourself in the mean time!

Im a lot calmer now so hopefully the rest of the day will be smome free!

My nasty habit is being overweight! lol! I've been eating better (and less!) and going to the gym for 2 full months now and it's so gratifying. I still have to force myself to go to the gym every single time. People say you get hooked on exercise and stuff like that, but it hasn't happened for me. Every day I struggle to not eat my face off or overindulge. Good for you for deciding to quit smoking. Every time you get a craving you can come here and b!t@# acout it to us!!

As some of you know I have been a part time smoker off and on sense dh & I date, about 4 years. Before then I was smoke free for almost 4 years with the help of chantex. I tried chantex again about 2 years ago and it made me CRAZY! I have to do this the old fashion way using gum & electronic cigarettes. I will quit for a few weeks or months & stress triggers a relapse. Then the whole process starts all over again!

So I'm putting myself & my nasty habit out there looking for support. I would love it if you would share your nasty habit you wish to quit so that I can help support you as well.

Last night I smoked my last cigarette. This morning I am doing well. Stressed a little but doing well.
