I never saw my nephew use it as a walker, but I don't know if they can be. He has a plastic walk and ride kind of thing that he did use to push as a walker before he could really walk but I don't know the brand. I've only seen him sit on the bug and push, but if he sits too far back it tips.
The one he used as a walker is sort of like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Lightning-McQueen-Activity-Ride-On/dp/B000EX0GW0/ref=sr_1_37?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1354322708&sr=1-37&keywords=walk+and+ride
but not Cars or anything. The ones you posted are much nicer looking than the bright plastic, though!
Also, he does still pull out the ladybug, even though it makes him fall, so I guess he still likes it :)

My nephew has the wheelie bug and it tips over all the time! I can't stand it-- the wheels are too close together or something. Now he laughs (21 months) but when he was younger he would cry because it scared him. Plus, a big screw fell off of it the other day, but I'd blame that on whoever put it together.

We're asking for the Radio Flyer. He'll be 8 months at Christmas, and he's already trying to walk things around the house. I think he'll get a kick out of the walker wagon. I am actually looking at the Wheelie Bug for a friend's daughter who will be two at Christmas. I just don't think my LO would find much entertainment out of it yet, so we went with the walker.

DH's parents want to buy something for LO for xmas, and i'm not sure which is better for her. She will be 8.5 months next month. Which one will get better/longer use? Any pros/cons of note?
