@meganmp: @MerryC: We need to do a HB MOMs meet up in Seattle now that the weather is nice! I was just looking back at this post and thinking how much fun that would be!

Can I be honest? I went out in the rain a few weeks ago. I was dying, the dog was dying, and we all just needed to get out of the house. I took them for a run on Alki, and it was heavenly. I felt a bit guilty because their little cheeks were cold, but they honestly didn't seem to mind- neither even cried. They were in their car seats in the stroller, with the sunshade up so they were protected from the rain, with a blanket all snuggled around them. They got to look out, I got to run, the dog got to run, and everyone was happy:)

EDIT- it's not raining in West Seattle right now, if you really need to escape!

I'm so sad the rain is back too. The weekend was so nice!

Maybe the library? If you can keep them reasonably quiet and occupied in the stroller or carseats, you could browse magazines. Or pick up some books on tape, because.....

Sometimes (especially around 4-6 months) I just load us all up in the car and drive around. I listen to the radio or a book on tape, bring a drink, or do the Starbucks drive through along the way.

You could go out to lunch or out for coffee. Everyone at Starbucks has always been super helpful when I'm out alone with both kids. I would bring the stroller, or wear one and carry one in the car seat. The employees would always bring my drink to me sitting down and so on. For lunch, it's helpful to go at slightly off hours so it's quieter. I usually get my order packed to-go, but try to sit and eat it there. That way if the kids melt down, it's easy to pack up and go quickly.

We go to the library on snowy days. There's a storytime every single dag at my local library!

When I am climbing the walls with DS (who is 5 months today), we head to the craft store. We live in a small town so there isn't much to do. Becoming a mom has me a lot more crafty, well perhaps Pinterest has something to do with it. :P

It's another rainy and cold day in Seattle, and the babies and I (13 week-old twins) are climbing the walls! It's hard to go anywhere substantial, since they feed every 3 hours and have about a 90-minute wake time. Any ideas where I can take them?
We've already "walked" the mall and gone grocery shopping this week :-)
