@lisa1783: That was sweet of you! It's amazing how even the smallest gestures like opening a door, can make your day so much easier.

@MamaMagpie: and @tinyperson: I love your stories! What great kids! I hope I can raise my children to be just as thoughtful and polite.

@runsyellowlites: I'm so sorry for your loss. That was very kind of your SIL. I hope your spa day will be a day of healing for both your body and spirit. Love to you and your family!

How sweet was that!!!!

I haven't received a "random" act of kindness but was given a spa day from my SIL & her friend/boss (salon owner) for next week in regards to our loss.

It wasn't out of nowhere, but it was certainly unexpected & over & above what I could've ever asked for!

When I was pregnant, I was across the street in the mall/library building, and this older woman asked this young (12-13 year old) boy where the library was. He was super polite and told her. I was then behind him and coming up to doors and he stopped and said "after you" and held the doors for me and another person. What a nice kid. I wished I could tell his mom!

What a nice gesture! Love that you shared it and want to pay it forward :)
The other day I was bring in groceries from the car and must've looked like I was struggling (36 weeks pregnant as well) and a teenage boy came over from his group of a few friends and asked to help. It was so sweet, especially because he was probably 15 and chose to walk away from his friends!

Awww that's so nice! I bought cookies for the security guards in my workplace because everytime I bring my LO they always open the doors for us which I love because it's so awkward with a stroller.

This evening I had a meeting at a restaurant in a very busy neighborhood. There was no parking on the street near the restaurant so I had to park four blocks away, at the top of a hill, in a pricy pay lot.

This normally wouldn't be a big deal except...it was POURING down rain and I'm 36 weeks pregnant. I waited in my car for about 10 minutes hoping the rain would slow down so I could go to the pay station, pay, waddle back to my car to put the receipt on the dash, and then waddle down the hill to the restaurant. I was feeling stressed and grumpy. I didn't want to be late and the rain wasn't slowing down so I finally decided to go for it!

I made it to the pay station, when I heard someone yelling behind me. It was the parking lot manager. She told me not to worry about paying and to get somewhere safe and dry. I was so surprised and thankful! Not only was my parking free, but I also was spared an extra five minutes in the rain. By the time I made it down the hill to the restaurant I was soaked, but I no longer felt stressed. It was such a simple act of kindness, but it changed my whole attitude for the evening. I hope I can find a way to pay it forward!

Have you been the recipient of a random act of kindness lately?
