@Mrs.KMM: same for me! Labour was only 12 hours and I only made it to 4cm. Mine will also be viewed as a first labour :bummed:

@Autumnmama79: darn - even though I labored for 36 hours before my c-section, I never got past 4 cm (failed induction). it sounds like if my OB thinks I'm a candidate to try for a VBAC, it will be viewed as a slower/harder 1st labor.

@bloved: I went into labour the day before my scheduled repeat c-section. They have me the option to have either the section or a trial of labour. I chose the section.

@bloved: sorry - to clarify! My baby was breach which is why we had the planned c-section. If you are a vaginal birth candidate and you go into labour you can have the planned c-section then or have a VBAC.

So wait, if you have a planned c-section and go into labor, they will do the c-section right away versus letting you labor? I am in the same situation and I assumed if I went into labor early, I would just have the baby vaginally....I'm sorry, I am sick and processing slowly today!

Yes re: c-section. My water broke and they did it that night.

With my VBAC, I had a first labour type experience - many, many hours (days) in labour, 3+ hours of pushing. With my first I didn't progress much though - I didn't have any contractions in the 12 or so hours between water break and c-section.

I'm planning for a vbac and was told that if you made it to 6cm with your first before the section, then your second will be considered your 'second labour' and you can expect it to be potentially faster, etc.

Just generally curious about this.

If you are planning a scheduled repeat c section and go into labor before, they just do it right away, right?

If you try for a VBAC, is your second delivery supposed to be faster, as it is for a second vaginal birth? I feel like it would depend on whether you labored a long time with the first?

I've just been wondering about those for a while. Curious what people have heard.
