Update if someone needs the info in the future. She kept refusing and we are done. She's been weaned for 2ish weeks. It's bittersweet.

FWIW, my supply adjusted to whatever LO wanted. I'd follow her lead! LO's interest ebbed and flowed after 1, we nursed until 2.5 and for those 18m, some days he nursed 6-7x, sometimes he nursed 2x.

@hilsy85: yes she's aware. Usually 6 oz when she wakes up, 6 oz after nap and 5 oz before bed. With nursing/water too. She also eats a ton of solid food.@ChiCalGoBee: I think the morning session is the easiest to keep. Thank you! I hoped to make it to one year.@red_seattle: she's never been one to ask for it. Occasionally she will but I think if I did not offer we would be done.

By 1 yr, DS was down to 2-4 nursing sessions a day. At 1 yr, I instituted a "don't offer, don't refuse" policy, and he was totally weaned 2 weeks later-- entirely on his terms. Making it a year is awesome! No matter how things go, you should be proud. That said, if it's important to you to make it another week or 2 because of the trip, it sounds like you probably could if you just keep offering but keeping it low pressure. Her interest may return.

At age one I started dropping the 4 sessions we still had. By almost 13 months we were just down to the morning session. There was barley anything left, and he was just doing it for comfort/routine. We ultimately weaned at just over 13 months. I could have gone on longer, but with some upcoming scheduling stuff I figured it was best for both of us. After a week he'd totally forgotten about it. I'd say there was still at least a little something there at one session a day, but he definitely needed a lot of WCM in addition. Congratulations on making it to one year! That's a huge achievement!!

I would keep going if that's what you want. You might find that her interest waxes and wanes depending on what else is going on (if she's sick, needs comfort, etc). Also, that sounds like a lot of WCM! Is that what the pedi recommended? I would maybe cut back on that, especially if she is still nursing since it's not so necessary.

My DD will be 1 tomorrow. Per her ND I started giving her WCM about 4 oz a day 6 weeks ago in a straw cup. In the last week or two she has really taken to it- drinking 15-20 oz a day. If she breastfeeds it's for 5-10 min total a day and she's not super interested. I should also add I've been really sick for a week- some days that I was sick she refused multiple times.

I did not really have a date in mind. I was also expecting for bf a few more months. We have a trip soon for 5 nights that I would still like to be able to bf for since we will be flying and staying in a hotel so it's easy to soothe her.

I'm not engorged at all- I still feel let downs and she's happy to nurse in the mornings. I'm not sure if I should keep going or just be done. I'd like to get her to the end of cold and flu season and our trip but I don't want it to feel like a struggle.

Any experience/advice?
