It may be a yeast rash. When I quit BF and had to wear a sports bra for engorgement, I got one. It took a medicated cream from the dr to finally get it to go away.

My first sign of thrush was itchy skin on my breasts. I think the itching made it look like a rash.

I had that too with my last pregnancy and it was a yeast infection. Who knew?! I never would have guessed that. I ended up buying monistat and applying that and it went area. My doc suggested that I put baby powder on under my boobs (where it first started) to keep them dry since yeast like warm moist places. That sounds gross but one other joys of summer pregnancy.

I'd definitely check with a dermatologist asap. You can have food allergies even just on one breast, dermatitis, any number of things. I think pumping might be irritating it more?

I had pupps while pregnant and hot this same rash post parting so I thought it was a continuation of pupps. My dermatologist told me it was "hormonal hives". He gave me a topical cream for it.

Hurmm.. I'd see a dermatologist pronto.
I got a rash on my belly shortly after I had Lo. Turns out it was contact dermatitis? No idea how or where I got it from!

Ok I'm going to post this here finally because I am just dreading making an appointment with my primary care and hopefully someone knows a little more about rashes than I do. I almost NEVER get rashes so I am totally clueless.

I have a spotty, red, itchy, bumpy rash on my breasts. It started on the underside of my right breast, so I thought it might be heat rash or from sweat. Then it appeared at the top of my left breast, and spread inward. Now it's starting on the top of my right breast. I think it is spreading by contact because those are main points where I massage while pumping.

Sometimes it's totally fine and sometimes it's dreadfully itchy. The other night we had thai food (with peanut sauce) and white wine and right after I ate, it was SO incredibly itchy.

I thought it was shingles again because I was getting pain as well, but I think the pain is just regular old milk duct pain from breastfeeding/pumping.

Any clue as to what this might be??? I thought maybe a reaction to fabric softener or something, but then wouldn't it be all over (or equally on each breast)? It definitely seems to be spreading by contact.

LMW has bits of rash on her right cheek and by her left ear too, and even though they don't really look like the rash on my breasts, I'm SO afraid I'm spreading whatever this is to her!!

ETA: I tried hydrocortizone and it did nothing... I tried clotrimazole and nothing. I've been experimenting with apple cider vinegar (read that it kills a lot of stuff) with minimal change.
