Maybe whatever you clean the seat with could be irritating her skin? I gave mine a thorough cleaning with a Clorox wipe a week or so ago - it was long dried before my daughter sat on it again but I noticed her booty was red that night and for a few more days too - took me a while to connect it but I think that was the culprit for ours :(

@Mrs. Yoyo: I'll have to get a better look when she first wakes up, hopefully the redness from scratching is gone and I can see it better. We have one of those rings that goes on the toilet.

@Bao: it took us a long time to realize because he had also scratched it so much. As an FYI to anyone who runs across this thread, it was a weePOD basix seat we bought at Target that gave him a rash. I looked online and there were other complaints. Switched to the bjorn and no issues since then.

@Bao: do you use pull-ups at all? E had a really bad rash with pull-ups because when she would go, she wouldn't tell us and the pee wasn't absorbed like it would be with a diaper. We used pull-ups at night and then switched back to diapers. Another HB mom had the same thing happen. I just used a lot of aquaphor and it wen away.

Also, I have to use fragrance free detergent on her undies.

P is really sensitive and the up and up brand toddler wipes from target work well for her. Walmart parent choice did not (made her very red).

@lamariniere: I did, yes! Some of them are still pretty rough to the touch though, I wonder if that could be causing some issue.

@bpcmarj: that's a good idea, do they make them for sensitive skin? I've never used them before so not sure if that's a silly question but I know some regular wipes make LO break out in a rash.

@Mrs. Yoyo: it doesn't seem to be in any certain shape but she's scratched so much it's hard to tell :/

Our LO got a bad rash while potty training all over. Eventually we realized it was kind of in a curved shape -- turned out he was allergic to his potty seat, not the undies. We switched seats and it finally started to let up!

With P, we started using wet flushable wipes and that made all the difference. She just wasn't clean enough from TP alone.

Dumb question, but did you wash the new underwear before she wore it? I'm extremely sensitive to new, unwashed clothing and almost always get rashes if I wear something before washing it. Even the mesh panties at the hospital after birth gave me a horrific rash on my tush! I only wore them for 2-3 days and it took over a week for it to go away. It was awful! Maybe try an Aveno bath? However, the only thing that really helps me when I have that kind of rash is hydrocortisone ointment, but I don't know if it is ok for LOs.

My LO is recently potty trained and she has developed a pretty bad rash on her bottom. She's been scratching at it a lot so it's making it worse. I'm guessing it's from her underwear but I'm not entirely sure. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this and if you figured out what caused it for sure. She has pretty sensitive skin to begin with so I'm sure that plays a part in whatever is causing it.
