Thanks for all the replies mama's! I know we will make due whatever decision is made 're:birth. @Mrsjumprope I hope you blog about your decision making process!!! I'm half tempted to see if the doctor will let me go into labor naturally and see how things go (I went into labor no problem with my first) but a scheduled date is also seems so nice!!

Yikes...I didn't even think of this! We'll have to reconsider our daycare start date, and possibly get our toddler started sooner than originally planned!

I just went through this - my older son is 20 months old and my newborn son is almost 3 weeks. I have to say this recovery feels harder than the 1st. I'm not sure if it actually is or just feels that way since I have a toddler now.

Week 1 was very hard and has been steadily improving. But I still can't lift DS and my energy level is not totally back yet, especially with the lack of sleep from a newborn.

My mom is here with me when DH is at work. I wouldn't have been able to do it without her!

We are going through this now. We have a newborn and a 35lb 2.5 yr old. The fact that I cannot pick him up for 6 to 8 weeks is tough to manage. DS1 is still in a crib, so I have to have some one here for nap and bedtime. DH took a week off and goes back to work Monday. DH works long hours, so starting Monday I have hired help. I think it will be tough to have the hired hands put him to bed. Plus, I don't have round the clock help, so there will be times when he throws a fit about having to come inside when I normally have to pick him up to force him. Once he figures out I cannot pick him up, those fits may become more frequent!

My DH will also be home the first 2 weeks of recovery and I'm sure would be willing to handle drop offs and pickups into 3 weeks if I needed it. We will likely be doing FT if not PT daycare during recovery.

My doctor isn't opposed to VBAC but I am not so sure I want to try!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: yes, I think that sounds great! I was ready to to drop offs and pick ups at 3 weeks but DH wanted me to rest.

@autumnlove: DH will be home for three weeks, and c will be in preschool 3x a week. Do you think that would be enough? I'm still on the fence with RCS.

Wasn't bad BUT DH was home for 5 weeks and LO stayed in daycare FT the first two months of my maternity leave. I felt fine by 3 weeks.

I have a very snuggly 2 year old and will likely be having a RCS. How was toddler care for you? It's the only element if recovery which makes me wish I had a vaginal delivery to recover from!!
