@mrskc: This was pre-preg....so I can dream, right? I honestly doubt I will get on the horses again, was riding horses for someone that had horses that weren't easy rides, I was thrown off and landed on my back the day of my BFP.....and haven't ridden since! Everything else though, I'd love to try to get back to!

@Thehistoryofus: @rachiecakes: @Baby Boy Mom: @Maysprout: @sarac: Thank-you! Calories and water I can do, I know some weight will come off (fat weight) and then once I get back at it, muscle weight will start adding up and I know how hungry I can get, so calories won't be a problem! DH works out 5x a week too, and is all over making sure we eat enough for him -we're good eaters, lol.

I've steadily increased my fitness to a much higher level than before I got pregnant, and it hasn't effected my supply. I'm not dieting, though. If I were trying to lose weight by dieting, I think I'd lose my supply.

I didn't have a problem, I started running at 3 weeks post partum and LO is 19 months now and still nurses. I run/bike 5-7 days a week, most of my runs are 5-8 miles, which is less than I used to do so it hasnt been the same post baby. I'm not getting myself back in enough shape to run a 5 min mile but I'm still fairly intense. Stay hydrated and eat enough. Somehow I was my lowest weight since high school while nursing, I think some of it was that there's a fair amount of muscles that I lost from not having quite as much speed and intensity but even at a low body fat I've not had any problems nursing, but I always made sure to eat, eat, eat.

I never trained that much, but exercise in general didn't seem to affect my supply as long as I was consuming enough calories and drinking enough water.

For me it did but I think everyone is different. My body definitely held onto weight/water for breastfeeding. Any time I broke a sweat it seemed to change my supply.
But I've had tons of friends that it didn't make a difference at all.

I don't see why it would as long as you eat enoughg calories and drink enough water.

I'm going to start working out again soon, and between running (long distance, will ease up to 3-5 runs/week), walking (already 2x a day), swimming (1-3x a week), ultimate frisbee (I'm usually the one who never stops running and am hard to keep up with, 2 games/week), fitness classes (kettle bell and bosu and medicine balls) and maybe getting on a horse again, my normal is pretty busy. I have a 10km race I registered for in May and will train to finish it in 44 mins or so.

Will working my way back to normal (above) probably (definitely?) end bf'ing for me?

Sounds awful, but I'm ok if it does, selfishly getting my body back at this point is more important to me over EBFing.

However, just wanting to see if anyone has gone back to a high level of busy/fitness and not dried up or gone sour? lol

Or did it last for X amt of time, and you split between BFing and formula?
