@Cherrybee: I love that you enjoy being outraged. That's awesome.

@.twist.: Ha. At least you admit you troll. I've never trolled but I am a lurker for life...guess that's why I read everything because I'm nosy.

Reminds me of another awesome April Fool's Day NPR Prank entitled "Why Doesn't America Read Anymore?" http://www.npr.org/2014/04/01/297690717/why-doesnt-america-read-anymore?utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=npr&utm_campaign=nprnews&utm_content=04012014

I see this all the time! Someone will post an article and they will get so many comments that are all about the headline and/or the image Facebook grabbed from the page... but it's clear they didn't actually read the article.

@mrsjazz: There was just a funny article on exactly this on NPR's blog!

"How To Tell Who Hasn't Read The New 'Atlantic' Cover Story"
http://www.npr.org/blogs/codeswitch/2014/05/22/314881767/how-to-tell-if-someones-actually-read-ta-nehisi-coates-essay

How many of you read a headline and comment on an online article or a social media post without actually reading the full text of the article?

It seems like SO MANY PEOPLE do this. And I want to scream and yell, "Reading is Fundamental, people!" :silly:

I read a very long article titled, "The Case for Reparations" in the Atlantic. (it's super duper long) Lots of other outlets are also covering the article and in most of the comment sections people are saying, "Why are we going to give them money? This is such a dumb idea! I didn't own slaves" Bla bla bla. It's obvious they didn't read the article because the author doesn't say that money is the answer. Dummies.

Be honest. I won't call you a dummy, I promise. :silly:
