I didn't and my baby still loves books. I started reading regularly one month after she was born. I wish I played songs though. I heard some impressive stories about that.

I did, I had a book of mythology that I would read aloud in the bath, because I was already reading it, I figured why not?

No. I felt/feel silly too. I talk a lot though, to DS and DH, so she hears our voices all the time. I also "think" things to her, not that she is telepathic or anything! But I guess that is my way of talking to her.... I also don't think it will make the baby any smarter.

I didn't. I felt like the baby would hear us talking and know our voices anyway, and I don't think I believe it will make the baby smarter.

we read to our baby maybe 1-2 a week. It did feel silly at first but it is pretty cute to see DH reading close to my belly!

My good friend asked me recently if I was reading to the baby yet. I have to admit that I tried it once, but felt really silly. Maybe I'll like it better when DH is home, and I can read to him and baby can hear.

She says that they read to the baby every morning and play music for him every night, they want their baby to be used to it and smart before he'd born.

Do you read to baby?
