I got a new Acura MDX in January and I really love it. It has a 3rd row, but when it's up there isn't a ton of room in the back. My stroller fits, but that's about it. It has the best gas mileage of any 3rd row SUV on the market. On long trips we can get 29 mpg, but I get about 22 or 23 around town. I live in a very high traffic area with a lot of lights and slow flow of traffic at times.

I have a Honda Pilot that I love! We looked at it and the pathfinder and felt like the 3rd row was roomier in it and I get pretty great mileage for such a big vehicle.

This thread may be helpful as well: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-you-have-2-or-more-what-car-do-you-drive

@Tanjowen: I really do love it. It gets good gas mileage (for an SUV), has been super reliable, and is really comfortable to drive. I have an AWD V6 with the third row (although I usually fold it down). My husband has an Audi and we both prefer my (much, much less expensive) Kia!

@Ra: I was just going to say that I have my eye on getting the Kia Sorento! I have heard great things, and the optional 3rd row makes it a definite next car for us.

What kind of gas mileage do you want to get? That's usually my line that determines small, mid, or large suv/car. I'm always in the camp of the most space for the best gas but that's a minivan :silly:

I need a new car to carry me, two babies and lots of space for suitcases or shopping bags or just diapers. I'm feeling extremely crowded in my current car, and it's just going to get worse. I haven't even started to look yet. I want something with 2 benches behind the drivers seat, but NO MINIVANS! And I'm not quite at the 12 passenger Nissan car or whatever that one is that I want. Anyways, is there somewhere in the middle?

ETA: right now I drive a tiny soul.
