@shinymama: ok, thanks! We're looking at a 10 day hotel stay, so I'm going to have to think about this, but the towels are a good idea if we go for it!

@babyboymom: it is off the floor, but my son didn't mind it. For overnight sleep we put beach towels underneath (outside of the crib) just in case. We've used it while visiting family, at the waterpark, and in the airport terminal.
@foodnerd1: yes, it's pricey, but I figure I will resell it when we're done with it, and that will offset the original price. :happy:

@Beehive: ok thanks! Yeah my kids do not like the pack n play mattress at all. We've had to rig various contraptions to get them comfy. I think a secondary issue I have is that they do not like being on the floor, but it seems like all the options have that as a starting point.

Another vote for the lotus, our son loves sleeping in it. It has mesh all the way down and one of the sides unzips so they can get it and out. We keep it setup in my sons room all the time because he treats it like a fort.

I agree with @shinymama:! We love our Lotus crib. @Baby Boy Mom: The mattress is pretty thin, but not uncomfortable - I'm not sure how it compares to a pack and play though, as we don't have one. It's great to have the flexibility to carry it on.

@Foodnerd81: yup the Bjorn looks like the best one, by you can't carry it on :(

@chopsuey: thanks! Reading now!

@shinymama: ooh thank you! Going to check it out! In comparison to pack and play mattress how comfortable would you say it is?

@shinymama: I has seen this somewhere a while ago and could never find it again- thanks! It's awesome that it makes a backpack and everything. $200 is still pretty steep though.

The Lotus crib by Guava. We used it on vacation for our 11-month old and it was fantastic. Light, carry-on size, has straps so you can wear it as a backpack, and I think it's on sale right now. {I like it so much, that outed myself from lurkdom to share!}

Do you know of a really awesome travel crib? Does such a thing exist? Ideally lightweight, small enough to carry on a plane, sturdy when set up and comfortable enough that a kiddo would actually sleep in it?
