The grace and lace ones are a good mid weight blanket scarf, I have a heavier one that is too much - and I live in a cold part of Canada! There is so much fabric with the blanket scarves you get good warmth and coverage just because of the volume of fabric! You don't want to end up like this:

Amazon sells one by Rampage for like $21 (https://www.amazon.com/RAMPAGE-Womens-Plaid-Blanket-Scarf/dp/B011M7QOTK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479223598&sr=8-1&keywords=rampage+blanket+scarf) that I got this year and really like. I thought it was going to be itchy but I washed it/line dried it once and it's cozy and warm (and big). I got a very similar one in a different red plaid last year that was equally good and cozy, I haven't checked out their stock this year.

I got this one from Nordstroms, nice price point. Its not super "thick" materials but wrapped up its nice and warm since its so large.

FWIW - I live in Michigan...so I'm familiar with cold winters!

My SIL works for this company and got me one similar to these for Christmas two years ago. It's super cozy and warm and was great for being 9 months pregnant in January because it was the only thing that fit!

Have you checked etsy? I don't have a specific shop recommendation. But I see tons of blanket scarves for sale there!

I was wondering if anyone could help out. Years ago, my mother in law gave me two really big, heavy, warm blanket scarves for Christmas. I've since given one of them away, and now want to find another one to give as a gift to a friend. Problem is, everything I find is really lightweight and flimsy! My friend lives in the upper Midwest and I want to give her a really heavy warm scarf like mine. Anyone know where to shop for this? I'm looking for a fashion-y blanket scarf, not a utility one. Someone said Urban Outfitters so I'm going to check it out, but any other leads appreciated too!

PS. My MIL said she originally found them at Macy's, but so far I haven't had any luck there.
