@Keybee: mine told me I had to stay out of the tub since my cervix was open???

If you do go in the tub, I'd scrub it really well first.

I'm so sorry for your loss!
I had a similar situation, should have been 10 weeks baby measured 6. I didn't know what to expect, I wish that I had bought some big night time sized pads before hand as well as one of those square covers for the bed, like the puppy pad. I bled way more then I ever imagined.

My midwife suggested soaking in the tub and drinking wine to help relax the muscles. I opted to eat nearly an entire chocolate cream pie while binge watching vampire diaries. Whatever works for you.

@petunia354 this is so sad, I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. 5 weeks ago I had literally the exact same experience as @nutella, so since I had a D&C (good use of $2500 I was hoping to put toward a live birth, but whatever), no advice on the pain or tissue... but I'm thinking of you. I do hope you take it really, really easy on yourself in the next couple of weeks. hang in there

@petunia354: I'm so sorry :heart:

I had a natural miscarriage at eight weeks and was terrified of passing the baby, but it was nowhere near as bad as I had imagined. I felt something slip out of me when I was on the toilet. It was about the size of a walnut. A few hours later, I had a similar sensation and something else passed and that was it. I bled for about a week. Physically it was easy, emotionally not so much. Big hugs to you.

I'm so sorry. Take the pain meds and use the heating pad, that is what helped me. I took misoprostol at 7 weeks because I had a blighted ovum- only a sac ever developed, but my body never got the memo. We caught it because of some spotting, otherwise I'd probably have continued on for a bit.
The cramping was painful, but I'd been given dilaudid, which I took. The heating pad helped a lot too. The pregnancy hadn't developed much, but I did feel the clots passing when it came out. They were noticeable but not scary or very large. The amount of bleeding was more than a period, but for me it only came out when I was on the toilet/pushed it out, so I didn't have any scary amounts in pads or whatever.

My advice is to take off whatever time you can, lie in bed, eat what tastes good, and watch t.v.
I tried to push it and get back to normal ASAP, and I just wasn't ready. I made it through the day, but I was so tired I thought I might fall asleep on the drive home, and in hindsight an extra day or two at home (with my daughter in daycare) would have helped me a lot, emotionally and physically.

I am so sorry.

I miscarried at 7.5 weeks and it was pretty painful. It started in the evening and continued through the night. I wasn't able to sleep until the worse my was over at 4am. My husband just slept and occasionally told me he was sorry everytime I moaned. I am still bitter about the fact that he didn't get up and help me through it, though he does have health issues that make him super tired. I hope that you have good support. I didn't take ibuprofen because I was in denial and didn't want to take it in the event that it wasn't a mc, since you can't take while pregnant. I got through it with just Tylenol. I think a heating pad is a good idea. I did pass a small intact embryo. It was really small, smaller than a grape. I also passed a lot of other stuff not intact but also not like a heavy period....pieces of placenta and umbilical cord. Sorry to be so graphic, but I know it's hard not to know what to expect. I was googling for info the whole night. Feel free to wall me if you want to talk.

This might be TMI, but I saved the embryo in case my doctor wanted to test it. I put it in a container in the freezer. When I saw my doctor, she didn't ask for it, so my husband and I buried it. We said a prayer together and carved a heart and cross into the tree that was next to the spot we chose. It helped me to gain some closure.

Again, I'm very sorry.

@petunia354: I had EXCRUCIATING cramps for about a day - the day after I began miscarrying. I'd alternate your Tylenol with motrin... and curl up with the heating pad.
Passing the tissue felt like a really big clot coming out. It was painful when it released (like a stabbing pain).

I'm so so so sorry!

I'm really sorry to hear this. Sorry you're having all this physical pain too  I had a missed MC at 8w, baby stopped at 6w so while it was a horrible surprise, I didn't feel any pain leading up to it because my body hadn't recognised it yet. I chose t have a suction d&e because I didn't want to wait any longer. Also the sac was still growing and I had been told that can be sometimes painful to pass on your own. The procedure went smoothly and physically I was fine. About five days later I had period cramps and then passed a big bit of tissue, but after that it was all over. Heating pad definitely helped with those cramps. Emotionally I was a real mess though. And it has been two months since finding out, and I'm still a bit shaken! Good luck with the recovery.

@petunia354: I'm so sorry you're going through this mama.

To answer your question about the tissue, my natural MC at 6 weeks was just bigger clumps of blood and not unlike a heavy period. From my MC at 10 weeks (stopped growing at 8wks), an actual fetus and placenta came out :crying: This was very difficult and traumatic, I will never forget it. The fetus was a about the 3/4 of my thumb in size.

I hope the blood and cramping pass quickly for you so you may begin to heal physically and eventually, emotionally
