@Anagram: I'm just shy of 5'5 and we have two RF Radians in my Subaru Forester, and I have no issues seeing.

We've got a Radian in our SUV but I don't have a problem since I'm really tall. I never even realized it could be an issue!

yeah, I was all set to get a Radian and then I couldn't see over it. So we ended up with the Clek, which was better (but I'm 5'7). That was when we had a sedan.

Now that we have an SUV, I'm considering a Radian for LO2--I wonder if it will still be an issue?

@bluestriped bee: Yay, I'm so glad that worked out! I hope K and L like the new arrangement! A and B liked it most of the time, but there was more toy stealing and kicking happening once they were right next to each other!

Are you using the angle adjuster? I found that helped once the lo was big enough but it wasn't great. We have a Britax boulevard and so far no blind spot but the head rest isn't up very high yet.

We had this issue with our last car seat (Recaro ProRide). We got rid of it for a variety of reasons, but I don't have this problem with our Chicco NextFit convertible.

@twodoghouse: Yeah, I'm short. I wonder if I can have one in the middle and behind the driver seat. Are both using the latch system or is one latch and other is seat belt?

I had this problem with our Clek Foonfs. I think it was a combination of being short and the seats being tall. When DH (who's a little taller than me!) drove my car it wasn't as bad. We ended up switching one of the kids' seats to the middle, which helped a lot because it cleared up space through the back passenger side window, if that makes sense. The kids liked sitting closer together too. They're actually forward facing now, and are back to sitting apart (one behind each driver). Since they are FF there's no blind spot anymore.

That's why we didn't get one. I wanted to but in our sedan I couldn't see around it. Not worth it. I did not have that problem with our Chicco next fit.

The diono seats will do this from the start but most seats with an adjustable headrest will eventually have the same issue.

Some seats definitely play better with some cars though. Slope of the vehicle seats, shape of the car seat, angle it is installed, etc. make a difference.

Just installed our two Diono Rainier car seats and they create blind spots in my car.

Does everyone have this problem with Diono? Or do all taller car seats have this problem?

I like the rainier because I got it for a great price at a warehouse sale, it's feels super sturdy and safe for the kids... But it creates a blind spot. So not so safe when I'm driving it. Oh, my car is a CRV. I know I check my mirrors when switching lanes and all.

I do have a shorter convertible car seat that I use for airplane travel. Maybe I'll uninstall the Diono and install the Evenflo. See if it makes a difference. Maybe having two rear facing seats will always create some sort of blind spot.
