I think it started about that time w/ DD1 and now she wants to bring it everywhere. I never gave a second thought to not letting her have it so she still brings it anywhere we go. But we usually leave it in the car to go to the store.

Yes! Lo never took interest in her angel dear until very recently. She picked it up one day, rubbed it on her face and sighed. Since then, it's been her constant (along with her blanket and baby).

We have the same rule as you about using it in bed only. She tries to fight it and cries sometimes for her lovey, but I am firm that it stays in bed instead of getting dragged all around.

I guess my LO'S lovey would be her paci. She's still very young (13.5 months) but she was doing great for a couple weeks only using it in her bed or in the car then suddenly she's wanting it a lot these days. She's also getting 6 teeth so that may be why she wants it but I still feel a little discouraged that she seems to have back slid a little. I try my best to keep it out of her line of sight at all times but she will specifically ask for it sometimes & sometimes I try to distract her but usually just give in.

DS is 23 months. He's had a lovey since he was a wee infant (A&A swaddles & security blanket). He went through a phase last year where he wanted to take it everywhere, so around 16? 18? months we actively started only letting him have it during sleep times. It wasn't a big deal and he was fine with it. When we did special things like get his hair cut, traveled to vaca, or if he was sick, we of course allowed loveys to comfort him.

The last few weeks though, he's been insistent on bringing it out first thing in the morning and after nap time.

Not sure where I'm going with this, but just wondering if your LO gets "reattached" to loveys. And how you limit use, if at all?
