we have the recaro proride. DS loves it! it seems very sturdy and comfy. but it is big! I have a Nissan rogue and it is a little bulky in there. we still love it though.

I ended up buying the Recaro carseat. It's built like a tank but it's HUGE. In rear-facing position, it's a bit unwieldy - even though you're technically able to keep a child rear-facing until 37", it's extremely difficult getting your child into position. In forward-facing position, however, it's awesome - very comfortable and easy to adjust.

We have two and love it. It is quite the vision obstructor when rear-facing but when forward facing we have no issue. My son immediately stopped crying when we went from the infant seat to this convertible seat since you can control the recline on the seat and he liked sitting up more. we have on in my husband's truck and one in my jeep wrangler. When rear facing we just used a mirror so we could see my son.

We have one, installed in our CRV. It's really easy to use and adjust, but it is HUGE. Like, kind-of-obstructs-my-visibility-huge. My husband has a first years truefit installed in his Fit, and while I think it's not quite as user-friendly or padded, he loves that it's short enough that he can see LO at all, and can reach back and hand LO a pacifier or wipe his nose or whatever. I can't see or access LO at all in the Recaro (not that I'd be trying while driving, but it would sure be handy to be able to pop a pacifier in his mouth at a stoplight if he's screaming). The Recaro gets good ratings and I feel good about the safety factor, but I really don't like the fact that I can't see as well around it.

I don't know about fit, but I have heard good things about this seat (safety, comfort, and durability).

Hi,

I'm considering buying the Recaro Proride Convertible Carseat but am afraid it won't fit in our cars (we have a 2002 CRV and a 2010 Prius). If you have or have owned one, what type of car did you install it in? Also, what are your general thoughts regarding it?

If not, what convertible carseat do you have and what do you love and hate about it?

Thank you much!
