While I can't speak for anyone else, they were times in my life when I wanted to disconnect from all social media because I was going through a rough time (ppd one time and hard time TTC #2.) That little link at the bottom that says "shut down acct" was just too tempting. Part of the reason is so no one can scroll through your list of comments and posts (though they can use the search bar but it's not as user friendly.) I always came back, though, because I think this community is special and I really wish I could go back to my previous username (simplyfelicity.) I'm here to stay. Or maybe your work situation changes and you just don't have access. But why shut down the account--just to avoid the temptation? I attempted to join those parenting groups and in the rare times I posted, these people who commented always talk in a way that is hyper judgemental, defensive, and they want to make sure you know they are way better moms than you and they have it all figured out and you don't. Gah. One parenting group I joined (and quitted) that focused on gentle and kindness, you even dare to say the word CIO, you get severely attacked and ridiculed as if I said I had eaten my children for breakfast. So much for gentle and kind. I also find HB moms are more similar to me, whereas in FB you have more of a chance seeing other moms who haven't gotten their lives together, have 5 kids through 4 marriages, or you would read people would hit their children. Somehow all of us who are very similar found ourselves at HB and hang out here, which is precious. That's why I can never leave here (at least for now).</p> <p>I didn't know looch has a Tesla! Sweeeet. I know that she has 1 boy who is one year older than mine, and we are in many ways quite similar (one and done, and our boys seem to have similar interests). Ahh.
