18 SECONDS AGO EDIT DELETE FLAG
I’m sorry you’re in this position. It’s so hard. I had 4 earlier losses (two before each of my kids) and then when we tried for #3 i had a d&c at 11w and it took us a while to get pregnant again, but am now 8w and we’ll see how it goes. So i did have recurrent but that’s the exception so i wouldn’t expect it for you. Unexplained reasons for us, we’ve had all the testing, by my later loss was an uncommon trisomy which is unlikely to repeat. I didn’t really change anything as we continued to ttc, except to try to take care of myself because emotionally and hormonally i had a hard time for a while post d&c. I think the hard reality is that these things are more likely as we get older (I’m also 36) but if we keep trying success is likely. My ob is pretty awesome i think, very understanding and last time she knew my history so offered an extra peek if needed, let me come in ASAP when i had bleeding, etc.
Wishing you good luck when you try again and don’t forget to take care of yourself while your hormones level out and you work through your feelings. Whatever went wrong, it was not your fault.

I lost our second child at 8 weeks and had a D&C last week. This has been such a painful and heartbreaking journey for me.

I’m almost 36 yrs old and have a healthy 18 mo old and want so badly to have another child.

I “struggled” for 11 yrs with no definitive explanation as to why I wasn’t able to get pregnant but after meeting my 2nd husband, and not using protection or prevention, we got pregnant naturally 3 yrs into our relationship. Had a great pregnancy and labor.

Now here I am wanting to try again (planning on waiting a full cycle) but I’d love to have some feedback on a few questions. I’ll warn you—I may have more questions 🙈

1. After you had a miscarriage, did you have recurrent miscarriage before successfully getting pregnant?

2. Did you change anything about your health with trying after a miscarriage?

3. If you had a miscarriage, did you have any underlying fertility diagnoses prior or discovered after miscarriage?

4. Was your OBGYN supportive and accommodating if you got pregnant after a miscarriage? If so, in what ways?

Thank you so much ladies. I feel so lost but this site has been such a ray of hope for me!
