This would be amazing, both for the flavorful butter and the shallots get soft enough to spread on a crusty bread

I made this whatever-is-in-the-house pasta dish and then my husband specifically asked for it. Although it may be weird, it tastes good.

Pasta ( for a side dish I'd use penned or larger mini shells)
Sundried Tomato Pesto
Sundried Tomatoes (1st time was the kind packed in oil, I dropped them in the boiling pasta water to get the oil off OR you can use the ones in the produce section in plastic bags)
Onions
Ken's Creamy Caesar dressing

1) slice & sautee onions until carmelized
2) mix in the pesto & dressing, let simmer til warm
2b) mix & add more of either ingredient to get the color you want- it will look like vodka sauce
3) add the cooked pasta & sundried tomatos; stir so the sauce covers all the pasta
4) top cheese if you like

I added rotisserie chicken to mine, but as a side dish no need for chicken.

My mom made these peas last week and they are SO GOOD (they're from Ina Garten's new cookbook). I realize peas don't usually seem that exciting, but add pancetta (or you can do bacon), shallots, and a little mint and they become amazing.

We are having a couple over before going to a party and we are grilling steaks, I plan on making cheesy potatoes, grill some mixed veggies, and I'm making a peanut butter pie. I'll have garlic bread and salad as well.

We are hosting my BIL and SIL for NYE dinner tomorrow. We are going to make crab legs, which we usually do, but I need some sides suggestions. Last year, we did creamed corn, sautéed Swiss chard and crispy smashed potatoes. I'd love to do some make ahead sides, if possible, because I will be home with LO all day and DH is working most of the day.

Any suggestions of tried and true recipes would be greatly appreciated!!!!
