@Mamaof2: @looch: I just got a Frontier 90 for my DD a while back and am excited to try out the new install... I'm really scared of seatbelt installs now that my DD is over 40, and this makes me feel way better.

I've been happy with all my Britax Frontiers.. 85, 85 Sict, and hopefully the 90.

@T.H.O.U.: 58 inches harnessed and 62 with the seat belt

top harness is 20.5 inches

I have short kids so we never have that issue :silly:

@looch: Yea, I figure we will get just a regular backless-booster at some point but we definitely want to keep her harnessed for a while.

@Mamaof2: The height of the child that can fit in the "shell" of the seat.

@looch: agreed - we will move to a backless booster at some point but they are like $25 so its not like a car seat investment is ($$$)

@T.H.O.U.: Not that I am aware, because as I understand it, the issues with the height are primarily with rear facing.

I will be honest, this will probably not be the last seat we buy, at some point, we'll go to a backless booster with the seat belt, but not for a long while.

@looch: @Mamaof2: Thanks!

We have been really happy with our Britax Chaperone so this is a big plus for us. Are there any height issues with these seats like some people find with the convertibles?

DS has the Britax Frontier 85 and we love it - the newer model is the 90 and they just came out with the Pinnacle which is what we will probably get for DD when her marathon expires next year - you cant go wrong with any of them though!

90lb limit in harness mode
120lb in booster mode
click tight installation'

9 year expiration date - so this is essentially the last car seat your LO will need!

Here is a great review - talks about Frontier 90 too!

We have a Britax Frontier, it's fantastic because of the newly designed seat belt install (when your kid is 40 pounds, you can't use LATCH with a Britax seat). It goes in between the plastic shell and the padding, so you don't have to do any complicated threading, which I really find helpful.

I will be buying a second one, I like it that much.

I'm thinking about getting DD (age 2.5, about 35lbs) a new booster seat and passing the convertible down to baby #2. This would be for my husbands truck, so just for short distances around town but needs to be somewhat compact. The convertible (RF) is going to have to go in the middle seat and the new (FF) booster will have to go behind the passenger seat.

What are things to look for? Types of LATCH? Seat Belt Lock offs? Arm rests that fold up or solid sides?
