@mrskansas: The refrigerated ones I get are called Floragen. Good luck, and hope you feel better fast.

@littlejoy: I think technically the btu does matter, but they all have so many "billions" but most of them are only one or two stains. That what my health/fitness guru tells me 😊

Oh I had no idea about refrigerated probiotics! I'll go to Whole Foods after work and get some there.

Thank you all!

You can't get the brand I recommend (Klaire Labs) at a store ... but you'll want one with high culture counts (10 bil) and that's kept in a refrigerator before purchasing.

I totally agree about fermented (raw) foods.

@Jackiedavis87: Interesting! I've always heard you want high btu, but the multiple strains totally makes sense.

Also fermented foods like yogurt and home made sauerkraut (most in the store is no longer "live") are really great to also help (take the probiotic too).

If you have a health food store, the best ones to get are in the refrigerator. You want one that has at least 5 bacteria strains. The BTU doesn't matter as much as how many strains there are.

Right now I'm on Align, which my GI recommended trying after I was on VSL3 for a long time (which is awesome but expensive and more for GI issues.) Also he recommended Philips (grocery store/Target) and BioK+ (refrigerated at Whole Foods.) Combine with Florastor, which is a yeast and can be taken with a bacterial probiotic. :)

Happy Monday!

I was diagnosed with a bad bladder infection on Saturday and am now on a heavy course of antibiotics. I'd like to start taking a probiotic but with so many options, I'm not sure what to get! Can you guys recommend one? Preferably something I can get at Target, Walgreens or Kroger since I'd like to start it today.

Thank you!
