It is a darker red (not a bright, fire truck red like Russian Red) and really compliments my skin. I love the formula of this lipstick as it is so hydrating it makes my lips feel wonderful, almost like a lip treatment. Oh and the other good thing about the pencils (of all brands) is that I find them easier to apply than the traditionally shaped lipsticks because the point is smaller.
