I can remove the "pot" and put it in the dishwasher and it comes with a strap if i need to travel with the dish i've made. If I were to get another one, I'd definitely spring for one that's programmable and automatically switches to warm after cooking time elapses.</p> <p>The one thing I do like about my current slow cooker is that the lid is hinged to the pot so I don't have to find a place to put it when I "take off the lid". (It's also the only one I've had so I have no basis for comparison) I really like this cause of the difference size bowls if I don't have a lot to make. Years ago we went through one or two and I remember one of them having issues with being too hot and it actually melted off the handle. We eat a lot of stew-y dishes that require tending to a large pot, so I want to give this another try! Do you know of a slow cooker that works really well and has a larger capacity? </p>
