I use the stick on paper ones. They're not pretty, but they do the job! I have Pottery Barn blackout panels for when we move to a place where we can install our own curtains but when I tested them out the paper ones were actually more effective at blocking out light.

You can buy black out fabric at most craft stores and tack it to the back of any curtains you like. I sew, but if you don't, you could always use a fuse tape, that makes a bond when you iron it, and then anything you like can instantly become black out worthy :)

Thanks so much. Was MIA most of the day since my in-laws are in town. I'll have to check out the PB kids shades.

I have the PB Kids blackout romans in our master, they're just ok.

For about $100, I found the ones from Country Curtains to be even better. The downside is they're super plain, but can be dressed up.

I got one for DD room from PBK and its not all that great - light still comes in from the sides

For DS I bought him some cheapies from Walmart and they are amazing!!!!

I wanted to add a pic - they were too short so I added a border to match his room

IKEA has son room darkening velvet curtains that are actually pretty nice. They are too short for our 105 inch long windows though!

We have this blackout shade from PB Kids. They are pricey but so worth it. They roll up on their own with just a slight tug and make the room really dark. The fabric is thick and insulating as well which has been great during this frigid winter! I would definitely purchase this shade again for future nurseries/kids rooms.

I'm looking to purchase either blackout drapes or shade for LO nursery. I'm stumped after reading reviews on a few sites. Where did you purchase your shades or what brands do you recommend.
