@jennlin821: Kind of - I accidentally bought the gel, so I used it as makeup remover and it wasn’t effective but pretty thick and sticky. I’m going to use it as face wash, and ordered some of the actual water from amazon. I’ve always put it on a makeup pad in the past, you could try that - less absorbent so it might spread less?

@erinbaderin: Did you use the micellar water last night? did you like it?

I use a damp baby washcloth and then pour some micellar water on it. I found I was going through the m. water too fast and felt like I was wasting it putting it on a dry cloth.

let us know your results!!

I started double cleansing (oil followed by a mild gentle foaming cleanser). My oil takes allll of my eye makeup off. It was part of my post partum skin transformation (awful acne to 98% clear skin now. And started using chemical exfoliators. Game changer!). Sorry, a bit off topic!

I went with Micellar water because I could buy it on my lunch break and it cost $13 so if I hate it it’s not an expensive mistake. Thank you, everybody, for the recommendations!

I do NOT recommend the Quo “gentle” eye makeup remover from Shoppers. It burns my eyes like a mofo! Every time I use it I swear I am going to buy a new kind and then I keep forgetting. I can’t believe they actually use the word gentle in their name!

I use either Almay eye makeup remover rounds OR I have a travel sized version of the REN Rosa Centifolia cleansing water. Love both. I use them after I’ve cleansed and need to get rid of any remaining residue (though that doesn’t happen much anymore using the cleansers I use).
I am considering getting the full sized REN one.

Here’s the almay one I have since there are a few:

I realized an oil works best for me, so now I use a bit of grapeseed oil.

I use the same as @skinnycow: and it is amazing! Also, this is currently a great price, I paid $5 more for the last container I bought.

I have super sensitive skin and rosacea and this stuff doesn't irritate my skin at all. It takes off everything with no scrubbing and lasts forever. As a bonus it will also take off face paint and temporary tattoos :silly:

I have always really like Targets UP & UP makeup remover that compares to Neutrogena's... I have fairly sensitive skin and like this one... I do find you almost have to empty a little bit of it out so you can shake it really well, otherwise its oily. Its only $3.99 a bottle too.

I also started using Micellar water maybe a year ago and love it. I have acne-prone skin so anything with oils is a no-go for me. I even like the Garnier makeup remover wipes over the solution, but I keep that on hand for if I run out of wipes.

I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin, so finding makeup remover has been a slow torturous ordeal

I have found three products that work well for me:

1) First Aid Beauty brand face cleanser. This is expensive, but you really only need a tiny bit. My husband and I both use this in the shower every day. This is my #1 recommendation! https://www.sephora.com/product/face-cleanser-P248404

2) Micellar water. This is a new discovery for me, I found this version in a small sample bottle at Target. I use this now to remove my makeup at night. https://www.target.com/p/garnier-skinactive-micellar-cleansing-water-for-waterproof-makeup-3-4-fl-oz/-/A-51117508?sid=2166S&ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Health+Beauty+Shopping_Local&adgroup=SC_Health+Beauty&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9002569&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiJncBRC1ARIsAOvG-a6Sm4FrrBHr5sTRGQFgnx1kNusJzYYAVclTnXXD4oD-2nqpbZi7epkaAjEKEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

3) Aveeno make-up wipes. Again with the sensitive skin, these are the only wipes I can use. These were my go to, until I found the above products. Now I just keep these in my toiletry bag for traveling. (Tip, I find these work better if you wet them a little!) https://www.target.com/p/aveeno-174-ultra-calming-cleansing-makeup-removing-wipes-25ct/-/A-14502759?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Health+Beauty+Shopping&adgroup=SC_Health+Beauty&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9002569&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiJncBRC1ARIsAOvG-a4GakMCMaWXNW2ihmwakDjeCBOkXx-zEAHS62jKvNFHQOgouU2928QaAgTJEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

For a long long time I’ve used the Kiehl’s eye makeup remover, but they stopped making it (whyyyyyyy?!?!) Most recently I’ve been using Lancôme Bi-facil and it’s fine, but I wouldn’t mind not paying $50 for a bottle of eye makeup remover. Anybody have anything you like that I could try? Ideally available at Sephora, Amazon, or Shopper’s Drug Mart?
