For the last 5 years, I have been rotating a North Face metropolis (usually for temps above 25 or so) and a North Face arctic parka (for temps below 25, or during snow or heavy winds). The arctic parka really blocks out everything and the fur hood is great in cold wind.</p> <p>This year, I decided I wanted a change so I just got a Marmot Montreaux to replace both of my North Face coats. It is a bit longer than both of them, it's lighter weight like the Metropolis, but it's a warmer down and has a fur hood like the Arctic Parka.
