I do hate the turn on noise, I just hold the speaker when I turn it on to dull the noise. I like that the noise lights aren't so bright as the Motorola! We live in a two bedroom apartment so we didn't need anything super fancy. This monitor does it's job...I can peak in on LO and see if he's ok and that's really all I needed.</p> <p>My only complaint would be that it shuts off the sound after 10 seconds of no noise. It doesn't always catch small noises LO makes. But I guess that might be good in the future when he no longer sleeps in our room at night. I like them both but I am disappointed that the samsung doesn't have the temperature reading (could just be my model), it doesn't have a low battery indicator so if you ever forget to plug it in, it dies with no warning, and it also has the most annoying noise when you turn it on. They aren't as high end as most of them - the picture doesn't come out crisp and clear color-wise but I didn't buy them for their color accuracy. I bought them so that I could check in on the kids. </p> <p>The great thing about it is that it can have up to four separate cameras and you just pan through them with the push of a button. Had it about a year now. We had the motorola and it died after 4 or 5 months.
