@lamariniere: thanks! Yeah I don't know what options I will have. I have to do the stairs unless we move, and I (think) I will need either very large air or foam tires as that helps getting up the stairs currently. Our current single is a jogger so I can't put a newborn in that. Hmmm. It also can't be a wide stroller since the hallway I park it in is narrow. I'm glad we don't have a garage or else I'd have 10 strollers for all of our changing needs!!

@Littlebit7: yep, we still have it and use it and we have had it for almost 4 years (my youngest one is almost 3.5)! I rarely have to deal with steps, other than just the curb, or the 2 steps to get into our building, but as your LO gets bigger/heavier, it's going to be rough bumping it up and down stairs. The stroller by itself weighs about 26lbs. So that with a toddler and a basket full of groceries may be challenging. But we loved the ride on board, my older LO used it from age 3-5. For us, the Bugaboo was definitely worth the investment. I just wish we had had it when my older LO was a baby!

@lamariniere: I'm resurrecting an old thread here. Do you still use and love your buffalo? I might need to find a new single that I can attach a board to. The caveat is that it needs to be able to bump up 5 steps to get to our condo. We live in metro NYC so I know the buffalo would be great for that. I'm debating between that or a narrow SBS double but we will have a nearly three year age gap so not sure if it's worth it.

I have the buggy board that comes with my city select. My brother handed down the stroller so I don't have any personal experience using it (well, not for kids. I use it to carry a shopping basket if I'm shopping with stroller.) Twins aren't old enough to use it.

We have a Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle with a Lascal mini buggy board and I've done some serious miles with both kids on board! I think it helps that the Mountain Buggy is a great pram anyway (easy to push, smooth ride etc) and my big girl (4yo) can easily pop her head up between the frame of the pram and the handle bar.

We had the Joovy Qool and ride on board. We liked it and had no issues but it's probably not quite as sturdy as the higher end ones. We got it on sale for 200something (sorry I can't remember this was in 2015) on amazon, then added the ride on board once lo2 was born.

@Revel: no we used our Cruz for the baby and car seat for the first few months - we didn't go out very much as a family in the early days since we were dividing and conquering. We did church and a few meals out but the single stroller was just fine for that. We got the Caboose when DS2 was about 6 months and we were going to travel in the airport. I think we could have used it fine beginning at 4 months. The one thing with the Caboose is that the seat does not really recline back far. This was a nonissue for me because my boys only really sleep in their beds and the baby could grab a cat nap in my arms or in the Ergo if he was totally exhausted but if napping on the go is your style it might be an issue (although if that's the case your older kid couldn't really use the stroller anyway).

I have the Cruz with the ride on attachment. Dd1 loves it!!! And it remains easy to push, even with both kids. She particularly enjoyed getting to look at dd2 when she was in the bucket seat. I still ended up with a double as well, for particularly long walks or visiting the zoo/carnivals/etc. dd1 did not like most of the sit and stands we tried with her because there isn't actually a lot of room for her when she was sitting (esp if the baby was in a bucket seat).

@bakingdoodle: @californiadreams: thanks for the feedback! Sounds like uppa baby may be the way to go if I do the ride on.

@gingerbebe: had not seen this but the price is right! Thanks so much for suggesting it. Did you use it with the carseay adapter for a newborn by any chance?

Appreciate all the responses! I think I'm going to hunt for a used uppa baby via some of my local resources and also consider the joovy caboose.

i have the vista and got the ride on board when we had LO2, it works great and we love it. DS1 especially loved riding it in the beginning and now uses it when necessary

We have an Uppababy cruz and went with a Joovy Caboose instead of getting the ride on board. The Caboose is cheap, it rolls great on foam tires, folds nicely, and your kid can actually sit if they want to.

I have a buggy board type (forgot the brand, I could look it up...) that I used with a Britax maybe 3 times. To me, only
the Uppa stroller+buggy board is worth it because somehow the kid head doesn't bump into the handle. My kid's head didn't bump in the handle of the britax because he is short BUT I walked like a duck because of the way it mount to the britax so he was too way out in my feet... (if you understand what I mean)

@gotkimchi: good tip, thank you!

@lamariniere: i have the city mini, and discovered in my research that it does accomodate their ride on board but most people complain the child's face bumps into the handle. It's not adjustable like many other stroller handles for the ride on boards. My LO is not tall so I feel like we might have this problem. I'm kind of on the fence because I'm due in August so I could probably babywear through the fall and use the stoller for my older LO, and by spring she'll be approaching 5 and could probably walk when we do 2-3 miles. That $400+ for the uppa baby cruz just sounds like so much!

What stroller do you currently have (if you have one)? You could probably find a universal ride on board to fit a stroller (Lascal comes to mind). We had a 3 year gap and have a Bugaboo Buffalo with Bugaboo ride on board. We stopped using the board when my older LO turned 5. It was getting way too heavy to push both of them and he could walk for a decent amount of time without getting tired (we are also city dwellers with no car).

We will have a 4+ year age gap for our two kids and live in a city, so we use a stroller a lot and I'm anticipating needing some way to move my older daughter around on longer distances but don't think I need a double stroller given her age.

I've looked at the uppa baby cruz with buggy board, and I'm curious if anyone has any others they would recommend?
