@betsyboop: thanks for another suggestion that wouldn't have occurred to me! I love having these new places to look into!

@Maysprout: oh I love Puerto Rico, and have only been once-8 years ago! Hmm, I wonder if I can find some cheap tickets...?

We went to Puerto Rico and rented a car one spring break. No passport needed. Once you get out of San Juan its less partyish.

Santa Rosa, FL is a lovely beach community that is quiet and more family oriented. You would have to fly into Ft Myers, I believe, and rent a car and drive 1.5 hours to get there, but the beaches are beautiful and the food is so good! We stayed at a friend's home when we went but the area is filled with homes that are rented year round.

ETA: sorry, we flew into Pensacola and then drove. Panama City airport is closer but there were a bunch of us flying in from all over the country and we could only coordinate times at the Pensacola airport! Feel free to wall me if you have more Q's!

@MamaMoose: thank you for the link-I was also going to ask which airport you would fly into, you beat me to the punch!

@mrsjyw: Myrtle Beach sounds lovely-though I'm worried it wouldn't be hot by mid March...what do you think?

@MoonMoon: It's kind of a hidden gem! It's off the coast of Florida in the gulf of Mexico. We have family that havea house there so I've never stayed in a hotel but I've heard great things about this place (it's technically on Captiva Island which is connected to Sanibel by a causeway):

http://www.southseas.com/

The airport you would want to fly into is Fort Meyers

We took DS to myrtle beach at 8.5 months last august! we stayed in a resort off the boardwalk that had their own private beach area and we stayed in a 2 br condo! Was a blast! DS slept well just like at home and we were able to cook dinners in and relax. We had qt at the pool, beach, boardwalk, etc. :)

I love Sanibel Island and it's usually more of a family crowd than a Spring Break crowd.

Hi bees,

DH and I would love to go somewhere warm-or hot!-for spring break. However, we'd like to avoid the spring break scene & tons of college students if possible. LO will be 9.5 months old-it's mid March. We can't get him a passport this quickly, so it has to be the U.S. and preferably east coast or south-west coast might be too expensive to get to.

Ideas? I'd thought about checking out Key West, DH is worried it will be full of students. Last year we went to New Orleans, and it was freezing, boo.
