The footprint is small but seat area seems plenty. I bought it in purple and love that its slightly two toned plus the fabric is soft. If you look at the listing for the cover (<a href="http://www.pkolino.com/Little-Reader-Cover-p/pkfplcbl.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.pkolino.com/Little-Reader-Cover-p/pkfplcbl.htm</a>) it instructs you to loop a paperclip into the zipper pull in order to unzip / remove the old cover. I'll take this as I can wash it, but I guess no guarantees on how it washes. Though if I can spot treat it, I can't imagine washing the cover on gentle cycle then air drying is going to damage it much. Wagon Jr. is shorter than average so he still fits fine in it at 3 years old. We chose it over other chairs because of its small footprint, plus the shape makes it less easy to tip (it's wider at the bottom than it is on the top). Plus it has a handle on the back for the kids to be able to drag it around, it's very light, and there are pockets on both sides for kids to store books in.
