This one is zippered a body suit that covers legs and arms, I wanted something very secure that wouldn't just slip off (at least a crotch strap is a must with these slippery little kiddos). </p> <p>Ultimately, at 18 months someone had him by the hand the entire time because he just wasn't steady enough at that point (started walking on his own at 15 mos). It fits her much better this year that she's closer to 35 lbs. </p> <p>I would really recommend getting some sort of life vest or suit. Floaties that just go on the arms aren't great for the beach. We really never went in beyond knee deep on myself and he was happy to splash around in the tide pools. She's very tiny (24 LBS). I found an infant life vest at Costco that I think was for 1 year and up (around 20 - 30 LBS, if I recall correctly). It fit her very well. Maybe check to see if your local Costco carries them? My husband's in the navy and will be doing a week long training, so it'll be me and my 18 month old at the beach most days. She likes to run and bellyflop into the water...it's terrifying! </p> <p>How do you keep your LO's safe at the beach? Life vest? Floaties? Most I find say 30 pounds and up and she's only 24 or so.</p> <p>Any recommendations on this and really any beach gear would be appreciated! :) </p>
