We went there a little before DS was born and had a wonderful time! It's a beautiful city, relatively small and easy to walk around (and there's a funicular to take you up and down the hill from the Frontenac if you get tired, though I was able to manage the stairs/hills just fine). The food was great too, I remember Le Lapin Sauté and Bistro B were fantastic.

aww super jealous! we stayed in quebec city for a few days while we honeymooned in canada, it was so lovely. take some comfy shoes, its super steep hilly! I can't really rec any places as I barely remember (other than don't stay at lowe's - but you got that sorted). if you go walking along the river there is a set of stairs that lead up to the plains of abraham.... they just keep going and going and going, so a word of warning!!

DH and I are planning our first (and maybe last for a long time since I am expecting #2!) child-free weekend in a couple weeks and are going to Quebec City. We are staying at the Fairmont. Would greatly appreciate any recommendations from those in the know!
