@Shantuck: I did get myself put on their cancellation list. Good to hear it worked for you! Hopefully I'll get in sooner, too!

@bananasareyellow: You should consider calling the RE to see if you can be put on their cancellation list. I was initially told several months for an initial RE appointment but asked to be added to a cancellation list and got a call 2 weeks later. People sometimes end up pregnant before their appointment or switch doctors so there can be quite a bit of movement on those lists.

@Mrs.Someone: Thank you for sharing your experience! l made an RE appointment today but it's not until February (was the first opening they had). Hopefully I'm pregnant for real before then, but it'll help each cycle to know that if we aren't successful, there is help coming.

I’ve also had 3 losses, 2 before and 1 after my son. Am also currently 34w pregnant. After the first 2 losses I asked for testing and it was found that I have APS, Hashimoto’s, and mthfr. Because of all of this I’m on a blood thinner starting after ovulation, and have to eat gluten free during pregnancy. My naturopath figured all these things out, but I had to do my own research to figure out I needed the blood thinner (prescribed by a perionatologist).

It’s often hard to get doctors to order tests like this, but that many losses in a row rarely a coincidence or because of age. I hope you get some answers soon! You can probably find some old posts of mine from 4-5 years ago with more details.

@periwinklebee: Not breastfeeding anymore. I'll definitely ask about thyroid and vitamin D. Thanks, bee. :)

@bananasareyellow: I'm sorry for your losses.

I have had three pregnancies - a 10 week loss (1st pregnancy), a 5 week loss (2nd pregnancy), and a healthy pregnancy. I'm mid-30s. Testing didn't show anything - usually it doesn't. The most likely scenario is bad luck combined with older eggs, though good to check vit D and thyroid levels. Because you've had multiple healthy pregnancies in the past, I think that makes some of the stuff they test for even less likely. I assume you're not breastfeeding, which can contribute to chemicals for some people?

@bananasareyellow: I get it - that’s why we did it too and it did help to know. Although the RE’s answer was to do IVF to get the best embryo we could, we didn’t get to that point (we lived in MA then with mandatory coverage so I think they pushed it earlier for that reason)

@bhbee: Sorry to hear about your struggles, and thanks for your response. My gut is that we've just had some bad luck, but at our ages I don't want to assume that. I think if we did testing and everything was fine I'd be content to know that we looked, if that makes sense.

@Chuckles: Thank you. I'm sorry to hear of your losses. I am glad to hear an RE took you seriously - I'm afraid I'm going to go in there and they are going to tell me these types of losses are "normal" and refuse to do any diagnostics. I'm glad that wasn't the case for you. I hope you get your rainbow soon!

I have had 3 kids and 5 losses, 4 early and 1 at 11w. We did all the recurrent loss testing and didn’t find anything - which is the most common outcome, so be prepared for that. The RE who did the testing told me we probably just don’t make great embryos, but it’s beyond testing at this date to know why. So it’s just a numbers game. It’s hard when you’re getting older too - it took me a long time to see another bfp after this last loss.

But given your history I’d say most likely is bad luck and age - so hang in there. Loss can be so so hard and I found great support on here to get through it.

I had a healthy pregnancy that was conceived on the first try and now TTC for #2 since April I've had 3 losses in a row. Two were chemicals (4 weeks and 5 weeks) and one was a blighted ovum that was a MMC found at 8 weeks. We've been going through testing with an RE. So far most everything looks normal except that my vitamin D level was low (which has recently been linked to miscarriages) and my husband's SA found 7% morphology (which isn't great but isn't really terrible). I think it's probably a combination of being older and bad luck, but if we have another I'm going to ask for them to test for anything atypical that isn't the basic stuff they always look for. Sorry that I don't have a reassuring ending to share yet. I'm so sorry for your losses. It sucks.

I'm so sorry. That's so rough. Ask your OB to check your thyroid and progesterone. There's a good chance your hormones are off.

I have one friend who had 6 chemicals and an early mc and then two healthy children. It was so rough for her and I believe being on progesterone is what helped her.

Hi, bees! Wondering if anyone had any experience or advice. My husband and I started TTC #3 two months ago. We had no problems with TTC #1 and #2. Last year we had an oops pregnancy that ended at 5 weeks - we shored up our contraception, moved on, and didn't really give it a second thought. Then our first cycle TTC this time around resulted in a pregnancy that ended at 5 weeks, and our current (second) cycle looks like another early loss, which would make 3 in a row. I'm 36 and DH is 39, so while this could just be bad luck, I'm worried about wasting precious time and experiencing more losses if there is something that needs to be addressed. I put a message into my OB asking for a referral to an RE to discuss recurrent loss testing. Has anyone out there been through multiple chemical pregnancies? Did you end up being successful with or without diagnostics/treatment? Thanks, bees!
