They were tasty. We eliminated all dyes before TTC 2 years ago and if makes me angry how ubiquitous they are. Do marshmallows really need blue? Chicken breasts from subway? I didn't even know it was possible for me to feel this healthy. It gives me hives and serious tummy issues. They actually used to have it in pizza sauce, but the allergy is so common that they stopped using it. </p> <p>Most people grow out of it. My mom is a psychologist and they used to say that red dye 40 allergies were connected to having ADD (which I did). DD (11 months) was sick over Christmas with a pretty typical bug. She is mostly better now, but is continuing to have really odd poops, which has resulted in some pretty nasty yeast-related diaper rash. Her poop is brown and doesn't have much smell, but it is SUPER watery... it absorbs into the diaper like pee, but leaves a chalky brown mess and leaks everywhere. The only thing different in her life - besides the illness - is the type of Tylenol I was giving her for the illness. For most of her life, I have given her dye-free Tylenol, but I accidentally bought the wrong type last time, so during the course of this bug she got Tylenol with red dye at least once per day for about 5 days. I have read that red dye intolerance can present as bowel issues, so I am curious if anyone else has had this issue. </p>
