How long have you had it? I'd give it an aggressive 12 hours of home treatment like it was a clogged duct (frequent nursing! Massage! Electric toothbrush! Lechithin! Upside down nursing! Heat! Warm soaks!) and call your ob if you spike a temp or feel god awful or you don't feel an improvement. Maybe put in a call to your doc to get their opinion

I had mastitis without a fever. I'd be seen if you don't improve.

I had mastitis and didn't have a fever. But the spot was really warm to the touch. And sore, even if I didn't touch it.

I had a red spot recently and it didn't turn into mastitis. It was sore though, so lots of nursing, heat and massaging. Good luck!!

from my experience, a red spot is concerning. My LC had me go see my OB because I had a painful red spot but no other symptoms and I had to have some fluid drained. They were concerned it was an abscess but luckily it was caught early! I was given antibiotics for it as well. Can't hurt to check in with your doctor!

I have a painful red spot on one breast and I felt really crappy thus morning. I feel a little better after a long nap. I'm not sure if I have mastisis or LO's bug or both. I have general soreness, a sore throat, and no fever. I'm resting today and trying to address the spot as if it's a clogged ducts (heat, massage, frequent pumping, lecithin).

Does the red spot automatically mean mastitis? I'm wondering if I should try to get antibiotics today or wait and see.

LO2 has had RSV and hasn't been eating or sleeping well at all so I would not be surprised to succumb to mastitis or exhaustion.
