Your supply should be pretty safe at 12 weeks. I would definitely try it...you could always add a pump at home to make up for it. Also FYI, it may seem like your supply is actually greater for a few days...it takes awhile to really see what will happen.

I was pumping every four hours at work from shortly after 12 weeks with no problems. Early on I was still pumping a lot more than LO was eating so I built a good stash. Now at 9 months I am pumping less than LO is eating, but my stash is big enough that I am not worried.

Unfortunately it's just a trial and error kind of thing. You won't know if it will hurt your supply until you try it. I was never able to cut a pumping session without major hits to my supply. The article in this thread helps explain why you may need to keep more pumps ands was an interesting read. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/breastfeeding-magic-number#post-182874

@T.H.O.U.: I work 2 more days this week so I'll keep up the every 3 hours and might try every 4 hours for 20 minutes next week!

I would maybe try to keep up the 4 sessions for a week or so (if you can) and just help it regulate your supply. From there, by all means cut back if you can afford the ounces!

I don't know how flexible your breaks are, but you could also try to go for 20 minutes every 3 hours which might let you get another let down.

I went back to work yesterday and my lo ate 14oz. I work 11 hour shifts from 8-7. I pumped at 7, 10, 1, 4, and 7 for 15 minutes. I got more than she ate, about 22 oz. I'm wondering if I can pump every 4 hours instead of every 3? Pumping at work is so hard! Every time I got caught up with work I had to go pump! I don't want to ruin my supply though! So I need suggestions, can I extended the times or should I keep doing every 3 hours? She's 12 weeks if that matters
