It started because he shares a name with a family friend and we were distinguishing between the two. But she called her first son Baby R until Baby A was born. R was 2 at the time. I have said I will likely call Baby A "Baby A" when he's an adult. </p> <p>I am guilty of referring to my 2 1/2 yo as "the baby"... she's really not. But when talking to people who don't know who she is (ie adults at work), do you say "the toddler"? I have a SIL who always, and I mean always, refers to her almost 1 yr old as Baby ___ regardless of her audience. I find it so strange when she is talking to adults and refers to her as Baby ___, or when she writes emails/FB posts and always signs them with Baby ____. I can understand prefacing it with the Baby when speaking to another small child, I do it with DD1 occasionally when talking about DD2, but never when talking to adults.</p> <p>Does anyone else do this? Am I the only one who finds this annoying? I will admit, I don't have a great relationship with SIL, so this may be colouring my view.... :happy: </p>
