@wrkbrk: LOL I think my unicorns were something crazy like $16 before whatever coupon or discount I have. But KISSING UNICORNS?!?! They were a must have. Sadly the pandemic has me throwing money at some really silly stuff (super specific masks, etc., at home learning tools, etc.) in the name of "if they like it, they'll commit to it and use it."

@PinkElephant: Haha right? I mean $9 for that PLUS the sanitizer is a bit stupid but I needed something my DS would actually think is fun to use.

@Rocker2014: @wrkbrk: Yes! We have a set of BFF Unicorn sanitizer holders that kiss (thanks to magnets in their noses) from B&BW...just need to see if I can find some containers lingering around the house or pick up a few more. I find them a little hard to refill, but should probably try a little harder - my grip isn't very strong and I gave up last time I tried. They are such a great size for not wasting and are tricky to squeeze way too much out of in one go.

PS OMG that cat. My six year old will definitely think she needs it. The 8 year old just saw it and asked if there's a dog version. :)

@Rocker2014: This is what I was going to say! DS is 4 and could use the b&bw one even last year in PreK. It hangs on his backpack with a little rubber dinosaur holder. No cracks or leaks.

@PinkElephant: Ah that makes much more sense. Guessing I should have bought more of the thicker gel sanitizer from TJ's when I saw it yesterday!

@MrsSRS: Yes, I'm seeing it too, but the consistency of the "gel", at least the ones I've bought, is still a lot runnier than it used to be. So I'm not actually buying liquid sanitizer, I'm just finding that the consistency of what I'm purchasing is thinner, so therefore more prone to drippage if not in the right container. I'm optimistic seeing your post though that maybe thicker gel is on its' way back.

I've personally never tried the sprays, though I'm seeing more of the Suave spray sanitizer, so maybe I'll give it a try. My older girls at least are very into beauty products, so they can manage spray pumps with no problem.

@Mommy Finger: It's not a choice I'm making (I'd prefer a thicker gel), it's just what I'm finding to be available. Prior to COVID when I bought "gel" (in a pump or squeeze bottle), it was truly gel-like. I'm still buying "gel", but it is a LOT runnier than it used to be. Someone on a Facebook deal group I am in said that the primary inactive ingredients have changed to be heavier on the water because there is a glycerin shortage due to all the sanitizer being produced - no idea if that's actually true, but it seems possible!

I'm starting to see the regular hand sanitizer in large amounts back in the store so gel might be an option. My Target has 2oz spray sanitizers in stock often. Maybe just buy a little one then refill it? Or what about a small spray bottle from the travel section

I bought these last year: https://www.amazon.com/KINIA-Sanitizer-Travel-Keychain-Carriers/dp/B07PVLB98X/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

They aren't the best quality, I think three of ours have cracked so far. We haven't had any leaks with them, but haven't put super runny sanitizer in them, it's been more of the gel consistency. But DD finds them easy to open, squeeze, and close. We looped one to her lunchbox handle and another on her backpack.

@PinkElephant: If you twist hard, you can take the tops off of the small Bath and Body Works containers, which makes it a little easier to refill them. I've been refilling ours regularly for LO since she can't use the spray bottles on her own but she can use these independently.

@PinkElephant: I hadn't thought about sending hand sanitizer to school with the boys yet but that's smart! Question for you. Why liquid vs gel? I just imagine liquid coming out faster and going everywhere! I'm actually wondering if a spray bottle is a better way to go. I've liked the little spray bottle sanitizers that I've been always been using from Trader Joe's. Will have to see what will be easier for the 5 yo.

@PurplePeony: Thanks. Yes, I was hoping for something like the GoToobs (I think I actually have some of these around for travel), but was concerned about leaking...I didn't even think about the high alcohol content eating away at the material. Looks like silicon may be out, unfortunately. I'm glad you said something. The Amazon ones look so disposable, but they may be the only thing that will really work. If that's the case I might just refill B&BW containers, but the holes at the top of those are so tiny!

Amazon has a whole page for this: https://www.amazon.com/mini-hand-sanitizer-Refillable-Containers/s?k=mini+hand+sanitizer&rh=n%3A11062781. I was going to recommend GoToobs but apparently they recommend against using alcohol-based products in them.

My kids need their small own refillable containers for hand sanitizer. Being that the stuff is fairly precious these days, I'm looking for something that holds just a little and closes well (so is unlikely to leak all over their backpack/dance bag). I'm looking for something that can handle a consistency that is more like a liquid than a gel...it seems a lot of travel containers are designed for shampoo/shower gel, and the new formulations of hand sanitizer are much runnier than they used to be.

Thanks for any suggestions!
