@pinkb: Thank you! I am just going to try the level up. We already have them from the box set we purchased so might as well try it and switch right back if she hates it.

We actually have Dr Browns too. We moved to level 2 nipple around 2.5 or 3 months. DD was getting to annoyed at the bottle because it would take to long and take too much energy, sometimes fall asleep too before finishing.

@Baby Boy Mom: Not BF anymore but ate very clean throughout both my pregnancies. Still ended up with two babies with reflux. I don't think there is a rhyme or reason. Probioctics definitely help though! We tried the Gerber probiotic drops and it seems to help.

I don't have personal experience with reflux specifically (although eating a really clean diet myself was helpful with my babies' digestive symptoms). But one thing I've read a bunch in another group I am active in, is giving a probiotic- like one drop of sauerkraut juice. Something to look into.

@paigeface: I think we went up to a level 2 around 6-7 months, when reflux was finally getting much better. But I"m sure every baby is different in terms of their preferences!

@paigeface: yes ranitidine doesn't really make the spit up less but it makes it hurt less, I understand

@periwinklebee: Yes! We use the Dr. Browns bottles level 1. Such a pain to clean but we've kept on them. I was just thinking we needed to change nipple sizes because she is so fussy at the bottle and pulling back but maybe that's just the reflux.

@magnolia: @MrsSRS: @pinkb: We stopped the ranitidine because we really didn't feel like it was doing anything to help when she was originally prescribed it and actually making her spit up more?

Definitely peaked somewhere in that age range.

Another thing that helped a bit was doctor brown's bottles with a very slow flow (level 1) nipple. I said when I was pregnant I would never get them because I didn't want to wash those zillions of pieces, but I seriously ate my words...

Ditto to above. If her weight has increased enough she might need a higher dose. I started DD on oatmeal by spoon not in the bottle at 3.5 months to try and reduce her reflux spit up. It did help us. I was gonna try sooner but wasn’t comfortable.

The meds are super weight sensitive so if she's gained weight without a med adjustment then the meds aren't doing anything!

@paigeface: hi mama! Is she on medication? Our ped mentioned we may have to up the dosage of the reflux meds as she gets older and bigger.

Also I have read somewhere that reflux generally is worse from 4-6 months

DD is 3 months exactly today but this week her reflux has really ramped up. Feeding has been a nightmare and she isn't taking bottles well unless shes sleepy or relaxed completely. It seemed like her reflux was getting better but suddenly has gotten worse. We have not changed her formula and is still on the similac sensitive. Our pediatrician last time we were in said that the reflux could get worse before it gets better as it peaks. Was this the case with any of you? She also said we could start doing small amounts of rice/oatmeal cereal in her bottles but I really don't feel comfortable doing that just yet. Should I try it at this young of an age. Any advice?
