@regberadaisy: same!

It's easy to add to Amazon via universal registry and it reminded me of what I needed. I deleted the post partum stuff before sharing it with people who asked.

We used baby list for our first and liked a lot! I think for our second one we will do it again although I don't see us having another shower. It was easy for people to use and I liked being able to add stuff like with notes like "baby socks- baby gap, gymboree and trumpette make great ones!" Or "bath toys" because I didn't really care which set of plaiting stacking cups we got and I think some people find it fun to pick that stuff out themselves.

@mrsjyw: thank you for your list! That's a lot of stuff that I didn't think about replacing. My boys are in the same month, so clothing wise I think we'll be okay, hopefully. But you never know!

You guys are awesome. Thank you for making me feel okay with this! I hadn't thought about Amazon, and I'm not sure why because I have prime and a subscription service! I'll look into that as well. It seems like babylist or Amazon seem like the way to go, because I can keep the more private and just give people the site if they ask.
@Mrs. Pink: a diaper shower sounds like a good idea, my sister was suggesting to do some sort of theme like that but we didn't talk about diapers. Thanks!
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I didn't realize you had to have two places for each item... How would you do that if it's something exclusive to a retailer or on etsy? I need to play around with it more!

I've never heard of babylist and I was against a sprinkle. If I could go back in time, I would have been ok with something intimate to celebrate baby. And I think a registry or Amazon list is fine to direct people towards if they ask.

I'm using babylist, but haven't purchased anything yet from it. I've played around a bit with the purchasing steps and it seems fairly easy. It's been time consuming to make sure each item has at least two stores, but in the long run I'm hoping that will save me money.

I have a friend who used Babylist for her first child recently and it seems cool! I would have used it had I known about it for my first child. I don't think it's grabby but you can't just tell people if you really feel uncomfortable that you won't be registering for this one.

I had an opposite gender child for my second, but I did get some neat things I didn't have for my first child that I wouldn't have purchased on my own.

We did Amazon again. I would do it otherwise you might get stuff you don't want. And only tell if people ask. I always look at the big registry sites like target, Amazon or babies r us to see if friends are registered. As a gift giver it makes my life just so much easier!

I made an Amazon registry and only told family when they asked. MIL and mom and grandma bought things off of it. Then I used the completion discount.

I made an Amazon list because I always check for other people's when buying gifts hoping I'll find something that makes shopping easier. I didn't tell anyone I made it. I didn't have a shower and nobody bought from the list.

We didnt have a registry but here's a list of stuff we've bought for our ds2!

Humidifier
Marpac
Washcloths
Dipes
meds cream and lotions
teething toys
Infant car seat and bases
Jj Cole bundle me
New pump parts
Feeding supplies for solids
Aa swaddles

We surprisingly ended up buying and were gifted clothes because they're both bigger boys and were opp season babies (nov and July in Michigan). Ds2 is six months now but fitting into 9/12 month clothes (all summer clothing from
Ds1.)

All this to say I'd make a similar list and send it out to sis or mom to send to family or friends who ask for it!

I would do exactly what @regberadaisy: said. Maybe don't have it written on the invitation, if there are invitations, but the host can tell people when they ask. We had a few people ask what we needed for second baby and since they asked, I wasn't afraid to send them a list.

I've never used babylist but it sounds pretty great.

You could ask for a diaper shower perhaps? (If you use disposables)

I'd make a small registry, because I'd rather have things I needed vs. getting a ton of extra stuff I wouldn't use

Haven't used babylist, but I have an Amazon wish list of new baby stuff that I want to buy. If anyone asks what we need, I can just share that with them. Seems a little more acceptable than registering...!

I kept a private Amazon registry for myself for #2 to serve as a reminder list and to take advantage of the completion discount. But when people asked I did make it public and directed them there.

Sorry, this is totally random and kind of all over the place!

I am due in March with my second boy in under 2 years, and my sister wants to throw me a sprinkle or something. I said that I feel kind of weird about it, but if she wanted to do something, the smaller the better (like go to lunch or something) All that is fine, but my mom thinks that I should register so that family knew what to buy me if they wanted to. I feel like that is a big no no because it seems a bit gift grabby... On pinterest I have been making a secret board of stuff that I like or need to replace for number two and just kind of assumed I would buy stuff when I could. However, I found out about BabyList the other day and wonder if making something like that would be easy enough for family but also work sort of as a list for myself?

So, I guess my questions are....
Did you register for number two and/or give suggestions when people asked what you needed/wanted?
Have you ever used BabyList? Thoughts?
